In 2024, residents of Perm Krai collected about 850 tons of textiles for recycling, which is 50 tons more than the previous year. In addition to clothing, wearable shoes were also accepted as part of the project.
Special containers for collecting items are installed in Perm, Berezniki, Krasnokamsk, Kamyshlov, and Kondratovo. The collected textiles are sorted: usable items are donated to charitable organizations, fur and leather products are sent to animal shelters, and worn-out textiles are sent for processing.
The recycled cotton produced in Perm is used to make fabric, which is then used for cleaning purposes.
