The Lenin District Court of Ekaterinburg has chosen a pretrial detention measure for Dmitry Baranov, a local resident accused of committing a terrorist attack. The Sverdlovsk Regional Court provided this information to Lenta.ru. Following the consideration of the investigator's motion, the court ordered the man to be held in custody until February 13. The suspect is 29 years old. His parents told journalists that Baranov works as a landscape designer, has no criminal record, and has never participated in any political activities before, according to RIA Novosti.
Upon hearing the court's decision to arrest Baranov, his mother burst into tears. On the evening of December 13, the Ekaterinburg resident threw several Molotov cocktails at the building of the regional military enlistment office. He was arrested on December 14, and the next day the investigator charged him with terrorism under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code.
On December 11, it was reported that the 2nd Western Military District Court sentenced two residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to 13 years in prison for arson of the military enlistment office building in Shahunya. The convicted individuals were a 50-year-old mother and her 18-year-old son. They approached the military enlistment office building and threw a Molotov cocktail.
