It has been a decade since Blake Lively last attended the CFDA Fashion Awards, but she made a grand return this evening. The former Gossip Girl star walked the red carpet wearing a beautiful white dress, featuring a daring thigh-high leg slit. To complete her stunning look, Lively accessorized with diamonds and draped a white coat over her shoulders.
Lively's friend, Michael Kors, will be awarded the Positive Change Award at this year's ceremony. Interestingly, back in 2014, both Lively and Kors walked the red carpet together.
Lively is famously known for being her own stylist. In 2018, when asked about this choice, she explained that she enjoys being creative and having control over her own styling. Unlike her job in the entertainment industry, where many other people are involved, being her own stylist allows her to be creative from start to finish, with an end date in sight.
Regarding the process itself, Lively admits that it is a lot of work, but not necessarily difficult. She compares it to how everyone dresses themselves every morning, but with the advantage of having access to a wide range of clothes. The challenging part, she says, is going through all the fashion shows, selecting the looks she likes, and coordinating with designers.
