Fendi's 2025 collection celebrates a significant milestone in the brand's history by honoring 100 years of women's leadership. Kim Jones, the creative director, brought together four generations of influential women who have shaped the course of the fashion house over the years.
The collection showcases the vision of Sylvia Venturini Fendi, who currently oversees menswear and accessories, her mother Anna Fendi, who passed on the reins and together with her sisters, introduced the brand to the international market. It also pays tribute to her grandmother, Adele Fendi, who opened the first Fendi store in Rome in 1925, and her daughter, Delphine, who is Jones' main muse and designs the brand's jewelry.
Kim Jones skillfully blends the perspectives of these four women with the craftsmanship of Fendi's atelier and the colors inspired by the "disruptive modernism of the jazz era - the first rock and roll - of the 1920s," according to Vogue. This fusion is evident in the collection, featuring semi-transparent, art-deco style dresses with pearl-trimmed botanical motifs that at times resemble 90s slip dresses. The collection also includes loose-fitting sheepskin robes, crocodile suede skirts, and a tailored, ocher-hued mesh vest.
As part of the collection, Kim Jones presented a collaboration with traditional American footwear manufacturer Red Wing. This resulted in workwear-inspired moccasin boots, which models sported with floral-patterned mesh socks. Other notable pieces include dusty pink mesh heels and new boho versions of the iconic Baguette bag adorned with fringe, charms, and even headphone cases.
Fendi's 2025 collection pays homage to the brand's roots and the influential women who have shaped its legacy. By combining their perspectives with expert craftsmanship, Kim Jones has created a collection that reflects the spirit of the brand and celebrates the ongoing influence of women in fashion.
