COS deviated from its schedule and unveiled its spring/summer 2024 collection in Rome on Tuesday, March 26. The brand, known for its elevated classics and laidback pieces, presented a 33-look show that combined designs from both its main and Atelier lines. Under the direction of Karin Gustafsson, the collection showcased voluminous garments in neutral hues of stone, black, white, and sand, with bold pops of red.
Various textiles were expertly tailored, ranging from translucent to woven fabrics. Details and silhouettes experimented with pleated shoulder pads, textured leather, and hand-painted accents. The show took place at Corsie Sistine, a restored section of Santo Spirito, Europe's oldest hospital from the 15th century, decorated with frescoes by Umbro-Roman artists.
Editors, fashion critics, and global influencers attended the show, expressing their admiration for COS' minimalistic and simple style that transcends gender boundaries. The collection featured timeless sets and a mix-and-match capsule wardrobe, as well as menswear-inspired pieces. Hoods were a recurring theme, adding a touch of street style to classic trench coats.
COS also introduced various iterations of its popular quilted bag during the show. A selection of the collection is currently available for purchase, with additional drops, including Atelier pieces, scheduled in the upcoming weeks. ELLE has curated a shopping edit from the spring/summer line, showcasing the best items from COS' latest collection.
With its unique blend of minimalism, simplicity, and punk British elements, COS continues to be a go-to brand for those seeking timeless and versatile pieces.
