The investigation believes that the woman threw bags of clothes into the eternal flame of the monument to the soldiers from Sochi who died in the battles during the Great Patriotic War. She has been charged with damaging a memorial structure. The accused has fully confessed her guilt and is currently under house arrest. Earlier, two 18-year-old boys were roasting sausages over the Eternal Flame at the Memorial to the Fallen in Kirishi, Leningrad Oblast. They had an impromptu picnic at the site of the burial of 4,586 Soviet soldiers. A criminal case was initiated against them under the article "Rehabilitation of Nazism by a group of persons." The young men were promptly arrested. The department has prepared a motion to the court to detain them in custody as a preventive measure.
